Preface:

Manypeopletendtooverlookthehumblejanitorwhocleanstheirofficesandschools.However,thestoryofoneparticularjanitorshowsthatthisprofessionrequiresmuchmorethanjustcleaningskills.Ittakesresilience,hardwork,andaboveall,humility.Thisisthestoryofamanwhowentaboveandbeyondthecallofduty,despitethechallengeshefaced.

Paragraph1:

ItwasaMondaymorningwhenJohnstartedhisdayasajanitorinaprestigiouslawfirm.Hehadbeenworkingasacleanerforovertenyearsnow,andhehadlearnedthatthisjobwasnotjustaboutsweepingfloorsandtakingoutthetrash.Itrequiredpatienceandhardwork,especiallysincehehadtocleanupafterthemessesofthosewhoconsideredthemselvesabovehim.

Paragraph2:

John'sfirsttaskofthedaywastocleanthebathroomsonthetopfloor.Ashemadehiswayupthestairs,heheardlaughterandchattercomingfromoneoftheconferencerooms.Hetriedtoignoreitandfocusonhiswork,butcuriositygotthebetterofhim.

Ashereachedthebathroom,henoticedthatitwasindisarray.Paperslitteredthefloor,andoneofthestallswasclogged.Hetookouthistoolsandbegantoworkonfixingthecloggedtoilet.Itwasadirtyjob,butsomeonehadtodoit.

ThereceptionistthankedJohnforreturningthelostwalletandpromisedtolettheownerknow.Johnnoddedandwentbacktowork.Hefinishedcleaningthelobbyandmadehiswaytothebreakroomtotakeaquickbreakbeforehisnexttask.

Ashesatdowntorest,Johnoverheardagroupoflawyerstalkingabouttheirweekendplans.TheywereplanningagolftriptoHawaii,andtheylaughedastheytalkedabouthowmuchmoneytheyweregoingtospend.Johncouldn'thelpbutfeelapangofjealousy.
